Ikora glass vase by WMF from the 1930s
This elegant Ikora glass vase by WMF dates from the early 1930s and embodies the typical Art Deco style. The vase is made of colorless glass with a light green interior overlay and bright red powder fusions that lend it depth and expressiveness.
The Ikora technique
The characteristic Ikora technique was developed by the WMF manufactory in the 1920s and registered as a trademark. This is a special process in which glass or metal is uniquely designed by melting in color particles, overlay layers, and textured surfaces.
Each vase is therefore unique. Today, Ikora objects are sought-after collector's items and exemplify German glass art of the interwar period.
