Artist plate no. 5 Max Bill, Rosenthal, 1975
Rosenthal Galerie, Edition 5/5000/0180. Signed and inscribed "ohne Anfang - ohne Ende".
The Rosenthal Artist Plate No. 5 is an outstanding example of the fusion of art, design, and conceptual thinking: minimalist, geometric design meets philosophical concepts of infinity—realized in a functional, collectible object. And the plate exemplifies Max Bill's oeuvre: a clear, sensual formal language that equally appeals to thought and observation.
Max Bill (1908 Winterthur - 1994 Berlin)
Max Bill's career began with training as a silversmith at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich. There he later worked as a painter, graphic artist, architect, designer and art theorist.
Max Bill's varied work is dominated by painting, which in 1931 deals with consistent geometric-constructive abstraction. He is considered one of the most important representatives of "Concrete Art".
