About the manufacturer Revernay
Atelier Revernay – Art Ceramics from Utzschneider
Around 1896, the long-established ceramics manufactory Utzschneider et Cie., based in Sarreguemines, Lorraine, opened an art studio specifically for the production of artistic ceramics. The studio was named after the town of Revernay, the residence of the director of the Digoin earthenware factory.
The first vases were exhibited at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. After the First World War, the studio was expanded. The vases were cataloged by shape and decor number.
From 1925 to 1935, Revernay produced outstanding Art Deco-style art ceramics, which are prized by collectors today. The objects combine industrial precision with artistic innovation and are among the most important French ceramic works of the era.
