Large Art Deco Vase by Revernay - Atelier Utzschneider
This exceptional Art Deco ceramic vase comes from the renowned French art studio Revernay, which belonged to the famous Utzschneider manufactory. At a stately height of 39 cm, the piece presents itself as an impressive example of ceramic design from the Art Deco period.
The vase is particularly striking due to its exceptional glaze: a marbled, greenish craquelure field is interspersed with cobalt-blue, almost liquid-looking glaze drops, which merge into a geometric honeycomb pattern on the neck. The aesthetic combination of organic surface and structured order makes this vase truly special.
Condition: very well preserved, original, marked "Revernay" on the base along with the shape and decoration no. 143/4.

About the manufactory:
Atelier Revernay – Art Ceramics from Utzschneider
Around 1896, the long-established ceramics manufactory Utzschneider et Cie., based in Sarreguemines, Lorraine, opened an art studio specifically for the production of artistic ceramics. The studio was named after the town of Revernay, the residence of the director of the Digoin earthenware factory.
The first vases were exhibited at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. After the First World War, the studio was expanded. The vases were cataloged by shape and decor number.
From 1925 to 1935, Revernay produced outstanding Art Deco-style art ceramics, which are prized by collectors today. The objects combine industrial precision with artistic innovation and are among the most important French ceramic works of the era. The studio was abandoned in 1930.
