Serge Creuz (1924 Brussels 1996)
The Brussels-born painter Serge Creuz was an outstanding representative of Belgian modernism.
His painting "Buveuse de Rancio" from 1947 shows his distinctive expressionistic, figurative and partly abstract painting style.
He was a member of the "Jeune Peinture Belge", an artists' association founded in Brussels in 1946, which stood for the artistic awakening in the post-war period.
