About the manufacturer Altenloh
Altenloh - Belgian silver with tradition
The origins of the silver manufactory
The Brussels based Altenloh Manufactory, along with Wolfers and Leysen, is one of Belgium's most important historical jewelers and continues to represent the tradition of Belgian goldsmithing and silversmithing.
Its origins date back to 1832, when Edward Altenloh began his goldsmithing career. In 1878, his son Ernest Altenloh founded the "Altenloh Jewelry and Goldsmithing Company," which gained international recognition for its exceptional quality.
At the 1910 Brussels World's Fair, Ernest Altenloh was awarded the Grand Prix for his silverware.
Under Robert Altenloh, Yvan Altenloh, and later Jacques Altenloh, the company became a significant supplier for antique silverware to the Belgian Royal Family.
