About the Manufacturer: Cohr & Company

The Danish silversmith Cohr & Company is one of the most traditional manufacturers of Scandinavian silverware. Founded in 1860 by Ditlev Cohr in Fredericia, the family business quickly developed into one of Denmark's leading manufacturers.

The ATLA Brand

In addition to solid silver, Cohr produced a line of high-quality silver-plated objects under the ATLA brand starting in 1921, ranging from centerpieces to jewelry boxes and cutlery.

Cohr combined Scandinavian craftsmanship with a clean, modern design. From the 1930s to the 1950s, the workshop created designs in the styles of Functionalism and Art Deco. Cohr and "ATLA" represent the fusion of Danish design, meticulous craftsmanship, and functional aesthetics.

For over a century, Cohr & Company shaped the style of Danish table culture and remains a significant name in the history of Nordic silversmithing.

The company gained international recognition through the International Exhibitions in Brussels in 1935 and in Paris in 1937. Production continued until 1987.
