Silver-plated candy jar, WMF, circa 1905–1910
Elegant candy jar with a silver-plated brass stand and cut glass insert. The finely openwork trefoil stand with linear struts and ornamentally designed handles is characteristic of the mature Art Nouveau style of the Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF).
The lid of this confectionery glass features delicately engraved floral lines and a distinctive ring knob. The candy jar is hallmarked with the ostrich mark, I/O (medium silver plating), and OX (oxidized surface), indicating a production date of around 1905–1910.
An authentic example of the elegant combination of craftsmanship, industrial precision, and the stylistic elements of the early 20th century—a typical piece from the heyday of WMF's Art Nouveau production.
