Contemporary work by Ferdinand Pire, known for his remarkable work on glass painting.
Ferdinand Pire (1943), a Belgian artist and master of reverse glass painting, created "La Révélation" in his characteristic églomisé technique. The intensely colorful painting depicts a symbolically charged composition with figurative elements that are particularly emphasized by the luminosity of the reverse glass painting. Pire inscribed the title on the verso. A significant example of the combination of Expressionism, Symbolism, and the Belgian tradition of reverse glass painting.

About the artist:
Ferdinand Pire (*1943 Brussels)
Ferdinand Pire comes from a family of artists. He received his training from his father, the painter Marcel Pire, as well as at the Brussels Art Academy. In his youth, he primarily painted landscapes and genre scenes in Africa.
Since the 1980s, he has devoted himself to reverse glass painting, strongly influenced by the Belgian painter Floris Jespers. By combining expressionist and cubist features with symbolic representations, he creates timeless characters. The églomisé technique allows him to create luminous and profound images by painting on the back of glass and integrating metallic elements.
Pire has achieved worldwide recognition for the perfection of his technique. Pire's works have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions and are included in public Belgian collections. In 2002, an exhibition of approximately 60 works toured the world for several years.
In 2008, Pire was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Leopold II for his services to Belgian art.
The artist lives and works in Malaga and Brussels.
