Mecislas de Rakowski - Late Impressionist with Polish roots
This oil painting by Mécislas de Rakowski depicts a landscape in the style of late Impressionism.
The tranquil lake reflects the light of the sky in subtle nuances of color and is framed by lush vegetation and an idyllic country house in the distance.
The composition is based on a serene horizontal structure in which the shoreline, vegetation, and sky are reflected and condensed in the water.
The impasto technique creates a vibrant surface texture, while the modulated greens and refracted light reflections evoke a subtle sense of atmospheric depth.
An ideal painting for collectors of Impressionist art and early 20th-century European landscape painting.
