He holds a firm place in the history of Belgian painting as a great orientalist. From the 1920s onward, he traveled throughout the Mediterranean and North Africa – impressions that had a lasting impact on his works.
His works are now part of public collections, including museums in Schaerbeek/Brussels and Mons.
