Frison's painting shows a strong preference for oriental scenes. This colorful work is inspired from the South of Algeria in 1926.

Jehan Frison

Jehan Frison (1882 Bruxelles - 1961 Linkebeek) was a painter, draftsman, aquafortist. He received his artistic training at the Brussels Academy (1896-1902) under Auguste Oleffe.

He was influenced by Impressionism. His favorite subjects were landscapes, still lifes, people and seascapes. His works show generous, bright colors. The expression of his characters is strongly inspired by trips to Morocco (1917 and 1928).
